Our vision of the teaching-learning process

  • Everybody has their own learning style and the successful teacher discovers it and exploits it. Careful doses of personalization in the teaching process facilitate and accelerate this process.
  • No-one will ever truly learn what is not relevant to their lives. Significant learning is important.
  • Blended learning works best, blending the best of face-to-face traditions with the advantages technology affords us. Take a tour of our blog to see how this works for our students.
Our job as educators is not a minor task; we can be the main tools to help others take this road. Having in mind our real mission will help us dignify our profession and recover energy when we feel overwhelmed by the present reality.
As language teachers we must ask ourselves: are we supposed to transmit our views that have not always worked? Or should we become agents of critical thinking moving our students to find new views? Teaching a foreign language can be full of "content". Our role as critical pedagogues serves to hightlight the fact that we are not just language teachers. We are agents of change.

We conceived this weblog so that students at Liceo Cultural Britanico Quilmes, as well as teachers interested in enriching their practices, could participate. In this place you will be able to find book extracts, articles and links to related websites which you may find worth visiting.
